Weaving

Weaving is not only one way that people have clothed themselves and expressed themselves through art for millennia; it is also an apt metaphor for connection and mutual support. I weave for the meditative beauty of watching colors come together; I weave to create garments that offer warmth and beauty, and I weave to remind myself that we’re all in it together.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.
— Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
